“There’s no doubt about it: winter is tough on skin. The dry air, wind and cold can make skin feel tender, itchy, tight and miserable. Short of wearing bacon grease on her face all winter, how can a woman change her skin care routine to help combat the winter miseries?” Resource: Essortment.com |

First look at your cleasning routine. For some, the cleanser they use in the spring or summer, for example, may not work in the winter. It (the cleasner)  may be drying your face out, therefore, causing your face to suffer from dryness, itchiness, or sensitivity. Try using a more nourishing or extra moisturuizing cleasner. Exfoliating your skin may be another reason why your face may be dry. You shouldn’t exfoliate too much in the winter. Lets say you were doing so 4-5 x’s a week; try 2-3. Also use a milder astringent or toner.. if it is too strong or has no proper balance (pH), then try using one that has moisturizing properties, with Aloe Vera,  Etc. Moisutizing the face may be another thing. If you use a cream base moisturizer in the morning.. try using a light oil at night. This way, your face will that extra moisture, without oiliness. You will wash your face in the morning, but the oil has a chance to penetrate into the skin.
